Went to a used bookstore here in town and found Understanding Trout Behavior by John Goddard and Brian Clarke. I had never heard of it before, but it looked interesting. And all I can say is that if you are serious about catching trout, go get this book immediately. In terms of changing the way I think about fishing, this book is right up there with that masterpiece Selective Trout by Carl Richards and Doug Swisher.
I learned a lot, especially from the chapters on trout vision. I will be sitting down at the vise over these next few weeks to tie up some flies for the coming year and will be changing the way I tie some flies because of reading this.
The book is part of Lefty's Little Library of Fly Fishing and is actually an abridged version of Goddard and Clarke's The Trout and the Fly. Anyway I highly recommend it.
