Bass 101 - What's in your gullet?
Is there anything better than a bass smashing a top water fly? I love the no-nonsense take of a hungry bass. Bass don't screw around when it's time to eat. It's just track it down and drop the hammer.
Speaking of which, it's that time of year. Water temps are warming and the bass are moving into the shallows to feed. These next 10 weeks or so will provide some of the most exciting fishing of the year. Get out the poppers and wiggle minnows and head to your nearest bass water asap. Wiggle minnows caught these dudes in the pics. Look in the back of that bass' throat in the top photo and you'll see why I was fishing a wiggle minnow. Matching the hatch, I guess you could say.
