Ok, technically there was no smoke, but old Sol put me on slow simmer out on the carp flats today. Hundred degrees out there, easy.
There were however mirrors. Or at least one. I found this small mirror carp tailing near some brush. She was a real beauty and I wanted to bring her aboard to get a better photo, but I didn't think she would appreciate being stretched out on the scalding surface of my canoe.
Otherwise, the trip today was largely unremarkable. I found some tailing carp and caught them. It was almost easy and I'm starting to get a bit arrogant about it. Which means a beatdown is likely headed my way. Carp have a tendency to bring you down a peg or two when you think you have them figured out.
